We are  looking for a Process Compliance & Outsourcing Controlling Officer who will focus on Regulatory Compliance and Outsourcing Controlling according to the company's Governance & Risk strategy. You will work with the Governance & Risk team to drive change and advise the Managing Director in charge. You will get to be a part of a cross-functional team with a very broad impact, with visibility throughout the organization and a significant opportunity to take ownership.

The Process Compliance & Outsourcing Controlling Officer is also the Internal Audit Officer, as interface to the Internal Audit as an outsourced function. You contribute to the improvement of our processes and make sure that we are delivering great customer value on platforms that are reliable, secure and compliant.

This position follows a hybrid working schedule with semi-regular in-person events and meetings onsite. We have 3 offices in Germany; one in the beautiful harbor city of Hamburg (Germany), the second in the Bavarian capital Munich (Germany), and the third in the German capital Berlin (HQ). We come together a minimum of twice a year to celebrate our successes together.

Your role and goals:

  • Carry out the necessary annual training and information events for Qwist employees

  • Advice the Managing Director in charge in outsourcing controlling matters to support in improving Qwist’s G&R management & strategy

  • Maintain an appropriate Outsourcing Controlling Policy, administer all other Organization Manual documents and manage the scheduling of the responsible authors and approvers

  • Execute Qwist´s (Material) Outsourcing Risk Assessment and Monitoring including reporting on annual basis and monthly

  • Negotiate contracts regarding regulatory compliance requirements and inform BaFin/BuBa on material outsourcing

  • Terminate (material) outsourcing activities and execute Transition Planning & Exit Strategy

  • Define Internal Audit planning and execute the Internal Audit plan and ensure the reporting of audit results (findings and complaints) and respond to detected deficiencies

  • Take care of the company's duties towards the BaFin and the BuBa through the notification and reporting system (Anzeige- und Meldewesen)

  • Operate daily Transaction Monitoring and improve develop rules set in close collaboration with AML Officers as well as regular Sanction Screening tasks.

What you bring to the team:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the compliance and outsourcing environment and relevant governance concepts 

  • Good knowledge in relevant regulation and legal requirements driven by BaFin

  • Excellent communication skills, you strive to work in a scale-up environment and it is in your nature to find pragmatic solutions

  • Ability to present your findings on a high-level and report these to all stakeholders on a cross functional levels

  • Confidence to challenge existing processes and to support your arguments with backed-up reasoning

  • University degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Law preferred or a comparable field of study

  • Business fluency in English and in German languages are essential

  • Professional experience gained in Fintech company, Financial Institute or Audit company is a plus.
